I believe many parents are quite upset over the zoning policy being implemented by the Ministry of Education. Don’t we have the right to choose? There are certain areas with many schools nearby while some with no school at all. Some have the best facilities while many don’t.
What about schools not able to offer certain subjects within the students’ zone? The ministry should first of all ensure a level playing field with equipment and facilities to equal proportion as well as all teachers’ skill level.
For high schools, there are different subject combinations offered. What happens to our children’s choice in subjects in line with their career?
With the general elections coming up, I think this would be a subject matter for the Government to think about as many frustrated parents would be going to the polling booth including some senior students.
