The Fiji Football Association has reminded football fans watching the 30th version of the Fiji Football Association Cup Tournament (Fiji FACT) at Subrail Park in Labasa to be mindful of the health and hygiene measures in place.
“The patrons are advised to strictly adhere to the social distancing measures that are in place,” Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said.
“The 50 per cent ground capacity will apply and there won’t be any compromise. Only 2250 people will be allowed to sit in the three stadiums on a first come first serve basis. The rest can watch the match from the embankment.”
Yusuf said there was enough space to cater for the expected hordes of football fanatics hoping to watch the tournament.
“About 2000 fans can watch the matches from the embankment.”
Football fans have also been reminded about the importance following government regulation such as consumption of kava from their own cup or bilo. It is expected that mandatory temperature testing would also be conducted.
Yusuf reiterated that patrons would be scrutinised with the careFIJI app on their smartphones or the necessary identification cards.
“Failure to comply with the laid down instructions will result in non-admittance to the ground.”
The 2020 Vodafone Fiji FACT would be the first major football tournament to be held at Subrail Park in the Northern Division after a three-year hiatus.
