YOUTHS will determine the next government that will come into power following the November 14 general election, says Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa.

Speaking at a talanoa session held at the Navuloa Methodist Church hall in Nakasi on Wednesday, Ro Teimumu said it was important to involve youths in the discussions involving the general election since they made up most of the voting block.

“The youths make up about 70 per cent of the population, therefore, majority of the votes will come from them,” she said.

Ro Teimumu reminded all parents present at the session to continue to remind their children on the importance of voting.

“They are the ones who will determine Fiji’s next government. So we need to remind them on the importance of voting since they make up quite a huge number of the population,” she said.

The Opposition Leader said youths needed to be aware of the election and how the votes they would cast would make a difference.
