SOLOMONI Saudromodromo set a Suva Zone 1 sub junior boys long jump record at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

He beat the old record set in 2014 by Misaele Moceivunisea of Assemblies of God High School (AOGHS) .

Saudromodromo jumped 4.76m to topple the previous record of 4.62m.

“I’m very happy with this achievement. I would like to aim for a gold medal at the Coca-Cola Games,”he said.

Meanwhile, Namosi Secondary School won all the 800m boys finals.

Team manager Atunaisa Waqaicelua said they did not expect to win.

“The hard work has paid off and this is just the beginning. We had focused on our long-distance and middle-distance runners and we hope to achieve more gold medals in this competition,” Waqaicelua said.

He said the Coca-Cola Games would be a different playing field, but they were determined to prepare well.
