A first of its kind vehicle handover worth $10,000 was made to Walk on Walk Strong (WOWS) Kids Fiji by All Freight Logistics (AFL) yesterday.

AFL sales executive Zalman Alfaaz Godson said the vehicle handover was the company’s biggest gift to WOWS Kids Fiji.

WOWS Kids Fiji founder Sina Kami said the vehicle was an answer to their prayers.

“We’ve been here for over 14 years and this is the first time a company comes in and just decides to donate a car to our organisation.

This vehicle will help us with the daily runs from the hospital to wherever our children stay,” she said.

She also thanked other businesses that contributed through cash donations to allow the society to continue to look after children who needed their help.

Ms Kami said a total of $5000 was used on transportation alone.

“To put together the transportation fares for Suva and Lautoka, our monthly expense would be between $3000 and $4000.

“That’s not just for one child but for any child that needs treatment at the hospital, we’d go all the way wherever they are in Fiji, pickup and drop them off at the hospital and through this vehicle handover we’d be able to cut down on transportation costs.”

WOWS Kids Fiji looks after a total of 76 children, with the youngest being a seven-month-old baby.
