The Suva rugby team is on a recovery mode to return to winning form in this week’s round 11 of the Skipper Cup competition.

Team manager Nemani Tuifagalele said playing Tailevu at Ratu Cakobau Park today could be tricky at times.

“The last time we played Tailevu was at Ratu Cakobau Park ground two. It was very soggy because of bad weather,” Tuifagalele said.

“The poor ground conditions badly affected our play and with the current conditions, we hope that it would be good weather so that we play on the main ground.”

Fans can expect changes in the Capital City line-up after the upsets in results in the past two rounds.

“There will be some changes because of injury, and after we look at the fitness level in the squad.

“We want to return to winning aways after our consecutive past two losses, especially from last week.”

He said players such as Enele Malele, props Livai Natave and Josefa Nasaroa, and Apisai Senileba could miss today’s challenge.

“We expect the return of Meli Kurisaru and fly half Jone Manu, but we will field the best we have to suit the conditions.

“We want to return to winning ways because we are on a course and that is to retain the Skipper Cup.

“We will give Tailevu a good match because we are playing towards finishing in the top four so that we qualify for the semi-finals.”

The Suva v Tailevu match starts at 3pm.
