Update: 2:29PM THE Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding (PCP) will host a participatory evaluation workshop in Labasa this week – and one expected to draw community representatives in Vanua Levu to share stories from their work with the organisation.
PCP, an NGO that aims to transform, reduce and prevent conflicts, is actively involved in working to promote gender justice through inclusive decision making and empowerment.
PCP program manager Uate Tamanikaiyaroi said during the workshop, communities that were part of PCP’s project on Vanua Levu would share contextualised methodologies and lessons learnt in addressing social issues.
“The discussions will explore ways in which groups have empowered themselves to become active agents of change with focus on the different levels of changes, whether its individual, relational, or cultural,” said PCP program manager Uate Tamanikaiyaroi.
The workshop will end with the launch on case studies reflecting the journey and learning of the community peacebuilding work in Vanua Levu, and specifically on the trauma healing and psychological aid post Tropical Cyclone Winston in Taveuni Island.
