The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) Women in Sport Commission will hold a ‘Violence Against Women Awareness Day’ tomorrow
The event, held in partnership with Karate Fiji and Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre, aims to educate the public on issues pertaining to the physical abuse of women and children, both within and outside a sporting context.
Proceedings will begin with a circuit activity, followed by some light refreshments, before a representative from Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre will give a speech on violence against women.
Karate Fiji will also provide a self-defence class to equip women with some basic karate moves to protect themselves in dangerous situations.
The event is free of charge, and both men and women of all ages are welcome to attend.
Registration will be held at FNU Pasifika Campus, Extension Road, Suva from 6:45am. Activities will run from 7:15am-11:00am
