THE Ministry of Women recorded total sales of $133,152 at the first ever National Women’s Expo at the Vodafone Arena last month.
Minister Dr Jiko Luveni said the event, which showcased the handiwork of rural and marginalised women, also connected them to potential markets and had proven to be a success.
She said they hoped to continue it for the benefit of all Fijian women.
According to statistics by the ministry, women from the Western Division earned $34,091, those from the North earned $39,795, women from the Central Division earned $13,137 and women from the Eastern Division earned $46,129.
The highest selling products at the expo, Dr Luveni said, were honey, mix craft ware, sewn products and virgin coconut oil.
