TRUST herbal medicine.

This was the word from a 78-year-old woman who has been living on herbal medicine all her life.

Mereani Lewakubukoro said for the past 10 years, natural remedies gave her longevity and good health.

She said she always encouraged her children and family members to take the medicines to minimise the risk of catching any illness.

“I take herbal medicines like pawpaw leaf juice and mile-a-minute juice because it boosts my immune system,” she said.

Ms Lewakubukoro said with the coronavirus pandemic, the best way to prepare the body was by consuming herbal medicine.

With businesses being hit with the impact of CO-VID-19, she said it was important for people to have a backyard garden.

The septuagenarian said though she received social welfare assistance, she continued to plant her own vegetables and root crops.

“I receive $100 a month from social welfare but that is not enough because the price of food in the super market is really expensive.

“This is one of the reasons I continue to plant my own food.”

She said she also supplied vegetables to her children when they needed it.
