Woman in Fiji trafficking case remanded

A WOMAN who allegedly facilitated the trafficking of 17 Fiji citizens has been further remanded in custody.
Seta Ram appeared before High Court judge Justice Thushara Rajansinghe this morning.
Her sister who resides in Australia is alleged to have also taken part in the alleged act.
Ms Ram is charged with 17 counts of trafficking in person, 16 counts of obtaining property by deception and two counts of money laundering.
Ms Ram is scheduled to take her plea on October 18.
State prosecutor Swastika Sharma today sought time from the court to file further information.
Ms Sharma said she had already filed and served disclosures to the defence.
The matter has been transferred to High Court judge Justice Daniel Goundar.
