THE World Mosquito Programme (WMP) will be expanding its Wolbachia program to the Western Division.
WMP Fiji project coordinator Aminiasi Tavui said this would be done following the positive progress they were seeing in the Lami, Suva and Nakasi areas.
“It demonstrates the confidence that we and our partners have in the Wolbachia method as an additional tool to reduce outbreaks of dengue, chikungunya and Zika viruses in Fiji,” Mr Tavui said.
He said Nadi and Lautoka had been identified where the WMP would be introducing the program.
