SIGATOKA Town Council special administrator Jay Whyte has resigned from the post and filling in as CEO is former Tavua Town Council head Tulsi Ram.
Mr Ram confirmed his new position in an interview with this newspaper yesterday.
“I’ve been here for about two weeks now and I am taking over as CEO of the council,” he said.
“Mr Whyte resigned from his post earlier this month and there has been some changes made at the council.”
He said despite Mr Whyte resigning from his post, the council would still enlist his help in moving forward.
Mr Whyte took the job in June, 2013 after an investigation was launched by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption into the affairs of the council which was run by former special administrator Aisea Tuidraki.
Mr Ram added he was still familiarising himself with the operations of the council before announcing any major developments.
“Well right now I’m still settling in and figuring out what needs to be done and what has already been done.”
Mr Ram said he would also have consultations with business owners, tourism operators and ratepayers in the coming months.
