Wholesale and retail trade increase

Update: 5:17PM FIJI’S total wholesale and retail trade sales stood at $1025.0 million for the December quarter of last year.
The survey covers registered businesses engaged in wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motor cycles which account for 80 per cent of total turnover in this business sector.
The most recent data released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics shows that total sales increased by 4.1 per cent or $40.4m when compared with the September quarter of last year as a result of increase in the sale of motor vehicles.
Meanwhile the statistics also show that sales of automotive fuel rose by 1.8 per cent when compared with the September quarter of 2017.
