From a promising soccer striker in Fiji’s primary school football competitions to being the FIJI Water Flying Fijians’ regular fullback, Ilaisa Droasese has come a long way.
He made a name for himself while playing football in his primary school days but his attention turned to rugby once he joined Cuvu College.
It was here that his talent was noticed by Fiji Rugby Union senior operations officer Tiko Matawalu.
His former under-14 soccer coach at Ba Primary School, master Timoci Jim Seru, said he was happy when he saw Droasese play rugby on the world stage.
“My message to Droasese and the entire Flying Fijians team is all the best for the next two games and come up with a bonus point wins as we want Fiji to play in the quarter-finals,” said Seru.
