Fijian Tourism Expo gold sponsors Westpac, is optimistic about the future for tourism in Fiji and is proud to have been a major sponsor at this year’s exchange.

Westpac Fiji chief executive Shane Smith explained the bank was committed to the event because of its recognition of the tourism sector’s enormous contribution to the national economy.

“We recognise the significance of this event to Fiji’s economy especially now when our tourism industry is getting back on its feet,” Mr Smith said.

“We appreciate the work that Tourism Fiji is doing to bring more visitors to our shores and are proud to support that work through sponsorship of this important Expo.

“We took the opportunity to showcase our payment gateway that integrates with e-commerce websites, corporate online and other relevant products to the tourism sector.”

Mr Smith, the first local to take up the executive position, said they also utilised the platform to promote the bank’s sustainability program – Westpac Women and Girls education grant – that offers a total of 30 grants to women and girls all over Fiji.

Westpac has been supporting the Fijian Tourism Expo for a significant number of years.
