Westpac Fiji and Fiji SME Business Owners Network are collaborating to launch a new e-commerce package that will enable more small businesses to access an online payment gateway and to make online payments possible.
In a statement, Westpac Fiji chief executive Kip Hanna said they were pleased to partner with Fiji SME business owners and support SMEs during this difficult COVID-19 disruption.
“This online facility would enable family members overseas to make purchases for their family members and have them delivered in Fiji,” Mr Hanna said.
“The Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) introduces SMEs to having an online presence for improved selling because of the ability to process transactions from anywhere at any time. This also enables them to compete globally in the e-commerce world. Westpac’s IPG provides a range of options to help boost the sale of products and services quickly, safely and securely online.”
Head of the Fiji SME Business Owners Network, Kim Beddoes said as the voice of small and medium businesses in Fiji, they were delighted to work with Westpac to help the present needs of businesses in Fiji.
“We are very pleased that Westpac listened and has created easy to understand packages and processes to onboard new vendors wanting an internet payment gateway for their website or e-commerce site,” Ms Beddoes said.
According to Westpac, the new e-commerce ‘Starter Packages’ will make it easier for businesses to understand the financial security required as well as the end-to-end setup processes to access the online payment service.
The businesses will have access to WinCave Internet Payment Gateway and Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS).
The package allows transaction values with regular transactions between FJ$25 – $50, and has a maximum monthly transaction value of $4,000.
There are other packages on offer with higher deposits.
Businesses will be able to accept online payments 24 hours seven days a week, with authorisation and payment processed securely within seconds.
