Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) customers residing along the Queens Road from Nawai to Sigatoka are advised to expect a power supply outage from this morning.

EFL chief executive officer Hasmukh Patel said engineers would be conducting repair works on the 33,000 volts Qeleloa-Nabou-Maro-Sigatoka transmission line in the Western Division.

To enable this exercise, he said they would have to de-energise the 33,000 volts transmission line.

That, in turn, will affect power supply to customers along the Queens Roads from Nawai in Nadi to Waibogi in Sigatoka and part of the Coral Coast, including Sovi Bay, Vatukarasa and Tambua Sands.

During this period, power supply to the remaining areas in the Sigatoka and Korolevu will be met by thermal power stations in Sigatoka.

Power is expected to be restored at 5pm.
