West teams set target

THE Cuvu Blues Youth and Skylink Natabua Beez teams will be using the Uprising Youth 7s tournament next week as part of its off season training program.

The Cuvu Youth Blues team is made up of players from Cuvu College while Skylink Natabua Beez has couple of boys from Natabua in Lautoka and players who are part of the Nadroga under-20 team.

Both teams are camping in Sigatoka for the event which is part of the 2018 Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s.

Tiko Matawalu who is the co-ordinator for the two teams said the players had shown great enthusiasm at training.

“I’m facilitating their need to participate in the tournament,” Matawalu said.

“Players in the teams are from Cuvu College and Nadroga U20 squad. There are some new recruits. So we have a mixture of 18 and 19-year-olds.

“We do not expect much from the players. If they give their best shot then it will be satisfying. The boys really want to be part of the tournament and are looking pretty good at training. It will be a learning experience for them.”
