FIJI’s top weight-lifter Manueli Tulo believes it will depend on his mental preparation since he will be competing in two different competitions in a span of three weeks.
Tulo will first compete in the World Championship at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, USA next week before he moves to compete at the Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu next month.
“I have prepared very well and the World Championship is the pinnacle of all the events and it is the second competition after the Olympic Games and it will be a tough competition,” he said.
“Most of the countries will be sending in their top weight-lifters to win.
“It has been the best competition and I am looking forward to the Commonwealth Games next year and it will be a good buildup for me,” the 27-year-old from Baba settlement in Levuka said
“When I return from the USA, I will meet the team on Friday and then fly to Vanuatu and it is going to be a toughest Pacific Mini Games for me since I will be having back to back competition. It is up to our mental preparation and for that I am preparing well.”
Tulo and Apolonia Vaivai will depart for the USA today.
