A WEAK trough of low pressure lies to the north of the Fiji group.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi this morning says it is expected to gradually drift south and affect the northern and eastern parts of the country by Friday.

Meanwhile, a moist easterly wind flow prevails over the group.

As for the forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect cloudy periods with brief showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands.

Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers.

Also expect isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls especially in the afternoon or evening.

For mariners expect moderate east to southeast winds, fresh at times with moderate to rough seas.
