A WEAK trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers lies slow moving over the northern and eastern parts of Fiji.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi this morning says the trough of low pressure is expected to affect the eastern and northern parts of the group till later today.

As for the forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect cloudy periods with some showers and isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls over the eastern parts and interior of the Viti Levu, Vanua levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group.

Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms with heavy falls.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

For mariners expect moderate east to southeast winds and moderate seas.

Outlook for Sunday expect cloudy periods with some showers and possible afternoon or evening thunderstorms about the eastern and interior of the larger islands.

Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms with possible heavy falls elsewhere.
