Weather watch: Warnings of heavy rain, strong wind and flooding remains in force

A HEAVY rain warning remains in force for the Eastern and Southern half of Viti Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti group, Vanua Levu Taveuni and nearby smaller islands.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi today also maintained the heavy rain alert in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca group and western half of Viti Levu.

The weatherman has also warned of flooding of low-lying areas and downstream of Korovou river and low-lying areas in Tailevu, downstream of Naqali bridge of the Waidina river in Naitasiri, downstream of Dreketilailai station of Qawa river in Labasa, and low-lying areas and downstream of Rakiraki town.

The strong wind warning issued for land areas of Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands also remains in force.
