Weather watch: Trough of low pressure slow moving over Fiji

A TROUGH of low pressure remains slow moving over the northern parts of Fiji.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 3:30pm today says  an associated cloud and showers are expected to affect the northern and eastern parts of the group till later tonight.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect some showers and few thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and Lau group.

Showers gradually easing and clearing tonight.

Cloudy with some showers and possible isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms over Lomaiviti group and the eastern parts and interior of Viti Levu.

Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms.

Isolated heavy falls possible.

For mariners expect moderate to fresh north to easterly with winds gradually turning and becoming southerly from later tonight.
