Weather watch: Trough of low pressure gradually drifting south

A TROUGH of low pressure to the north of Fiji is gradually drifting south towards the group.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi this afternoon says it is anticipated to affect the country from later today.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect occasional showers with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms expected over Northern Lau group, Vanua Levu, the eastern parts and interior of the other larger islands.

Elsewhere, cloudy periods with afternoon or evening showers.

For mariners expect moderate northeast winds with moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Thursday, cloudy periods with some showers with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm.
