Weather watch: Trough of low pressure approaches Fiji

A weak trough of low pressure with associated clouds and showers affects the southern parts of the group.

According to the weather bulletin issued from the national weather forecasting centre in Nadi this afternoon, another trough of low pressure is approaching Fiji from the northwest and is expected to affect parts of the group from later today.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group, expect cloudy with some showers and isolated thunderstorms over for the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands (Viti Levu, Vanua Levu), Kadavu, Taveuni and Lau, and Lomaiviti group.

Also, expect isolated heavy falls.

Elsewhere, cloudy with some showers and isolated thunderstorms especially in the afternoon or evening.

Moderate East to Southeast winds and moderate seas.

The outlook for Saturday, expect occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group.
