A THREE-year-old boy is dead after he slipped into a drain in a tragic accident yesterday morning at Lovoni Village in Ovalau.
Fiji Police chief operations officer ACP Maretino Qiolevu alleged the child wanted to jump over the drain but slipped and hit the drain.
ACP Qiolevu said the young boy was rushed to the Bureta Health Center where he was pronounced dead.
He urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children because this was not a time to be playing outdoors and or in flooded areas.
