Expect rain over the eastern parts of the country today.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi this morning says a trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the eastern parts of Fiji and is gradually moving eastwards away from the group.

The associated cloud and showers are expected to affect the eastern parts of the group till later today.

Thef orecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect occasional showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over Lau and Lomaiviti group, showers gradually clearing from later today.

Cloudy periods with some showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands.

Elsewhere, fine apart from possible afternoon or evening showers and cool tonight.

For mariners, expect moderate northeast to southeast winds.

Winds becoming predominantly southerly later today with moderate seas.

The outlook for Thursday expect cloudy periods with brief showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands.

Mainly fine apart elsewhere and cool at night.
