Weather watch: Rain expected to affect Fiji group

Expect rain to affect the Fiji group as a trough of low pressure to the west of Fiji is gradually moving east towards the country.

According to the weather bulletin issued from the national weather forecasting centre in Nadi this morning, associated clouds and showers are expected to affect parts of the group from later today.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group, expect cloudy periods with some showers over Suva/Nausori-Tailevu, eastern Ra, Naitasiri & Serua-Namosi, Sigatoka-Korolevu, northeast Macuata, Cakaudrove, southern Bua, Kadavu, Beqa and Vatulele, Lau and Lomaiviti group.

Elsewhere, cloudy with afternoon or evening showers.

Isolated afternoon thunderstorms with heavy falls likely.

Mariners are also advised to expect moderate East to Northeast winds and rough seas.

Showers are forecast over most places on Saturday, likely heavy at times with isolated thunderstorms.
