THE National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) is urging parents to monitor the whereabouts of their children after police reported the death of a 15-year-old boy who was swept away by strong currents at Naselai, Tailevu, yesterday.

Members of the public are advised to take heed of the weather advisories and not to involve themselves in activities that will put their lives at risk.

Meanwhile, a total of 30 roads remain closed in the Central and Western divisions.

Motorists are advised to reconsider travel plans because of the high risk of landslides following continuous heavy rain.

They are also advised to contact FRA for road status updates.
