Weather watch: Heavy rain warning remains in force

A heavy rain warning remains in force for Eastern half of Viti Levu and interior of the other larger islands, Northeastern parts of Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, northern Lau and Lomaiviti group.
A flash flood warning remains in force foe low lying areas and small streams within the Eastern half of Viti Levu from Serua coastal areas to Navua, Navua to Suva, Suva to Nausori, Nausori to Korovou, Korovou to Ra and low lying areas in the interior of the Rewa catchment and for the low lying areas and small streams within the Nakauvadra catchment from Vatukacevaceva station to Rakiraki Town.
According to the Fiji Met Service, this is due to a trough of low pressure remains slow moving over the group.
The associated cloud and rain continues to affect the northern and the eastern parts of Fiji.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over the eastern half of Viti Levu and interior of the other larger islands, northeastern parts of Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, northern Lau and Lomaiviti group.
Elsewhere, cloudy periods with some showers and isolated thunderstorms expected especially in the afternoon and evening. Isolated heavy falls expected. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. Moderate east to southeast winds, fresh at times.
Moderate to rough seas.
