Weather watch: Heavy rain warning for whole of Fiji

A HEAVY rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa, Lau and Lomaiviti group, the eastern parts and interior parts of Viti Levu, Southern Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, and in now in force for the rest of Fiji.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 10:45am today says a trough of low pressure to the west of Fiji continues to gradually move Eastwards towards the group.

Meanwhile, another trough affects Vanua Levu and is also drifting towards the group.

Associated cloud and showers is expected to affect the Fiji group till Friday.

Meanwhile, a strong wind warning remains in force for land areas of Southern and Northern Viti Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti, Southern and Northern parts of Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and is now cancelled for Yasawa and Mamanuca group and Kadavu.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group, expect occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most places.
