HEAVY Rainfall across the country resulted in widespread flooding of low lying areas yesterday.
The heavy downpours also loosened saturated soil and caused landslips in Talenaua, Nasau Road and Waidalice bringing traffic to a standstill.
In the Talenaua incident, National Fire Authority officers had to rescue a motorist who was trapped inside a vehicle.
Fiji Meteorological Service director Misaeli Funaki said the inclement weather was expected to continue until Wednesday.
More reports are in today’s edition of The Fiji Times.
