Weather watch: Flood warning remains in force for low-lying areas

A FLOOD warning remains in force for low-lying areas and areas adjacent to the Naqali river.

A flood alert also remains in force for all low-lying areas and small streams of Vanua Levu and the eastern half of Viti Levu.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 10:52am today says the strong wind warning remains in force for the land areas of northern Viti Levu and is now cancelled for Lau and Lomaiviti Group and Kadavu.

However, a heavy rain warning remains in force for the eastern half and the interior parts of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Lau and the Lomaiviti groups.

Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over the eastern parts of Fiji.

It is expected to affect the country till the weekend.
