Weather watch: Cloud and showers forecast

Do not store those water repellent gears away just yet.

If you live in the western and southern parts of Fiji, chances are you will need either an umbrella or a raincoat, or both, in the next few days.

The national weather forecasting centre in Nadi has reported a trough of low pressure that lies slow moving to the southwest of the group, and associated cloud and showers will affect the western and southern parts of the country.

Meanwhile, the weatherman says a moist northeasterly wind flow prevails over the Fiji group.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group, expect cloudy periods with some showers about Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, and the northeastern parts and the interior of the larger islands.

Isolated afternoon thunderstorms expected.

Elsewhere, cloudy periods with afternoon or evening showers.

Mariners are advised to expect moderate northeasterly winds and moderate seas.

The outlook for Saturday, cloudy with some showers and isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the northeastern parts and interior of the larger islands.
