A LOW pressure system located to the West of Fiji has intensified and is now a Tropical Disturbance.
TD12F was located about 600 kilometres west of Nadi at 3pm yesterday and has a moderate to high chance of developing into a Tropical Cyclone over the next 72 hours.
Fiji Meteorological Service (FMS) director Ravind Kumar said TD12F was expected to move southeast towards the Fiji Group and bring heavy rain and strong wind.
He said TD12F was anticipated to further intensify into a Tropical Depression in the next 12 to 24 hours as it moved closer to Fiji and was expected to track southwest of the Fiji Group this weekend.
