A HEAVY rain warning previously n force for eastern Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and northern Lau group has been cancelled.
The weather forecasting centre in Nadi says an active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain over the northern parts of the Fiji group was gradually moving away from the group.
The weatherman has, however, forecast occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms over eastern Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, and northern Lau group.
Showers are expected to ease tonight.
