Weather Bulletin Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 5:30am on Sunday the 5th of October 2014 A DAMAGING HEAVY SWELL WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE LOW LYING COASTAL AREAS OF SOUTHERN VITI-LEVU, KADAVU, BEQA, VATULELE AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, MAMANUCA, SOUTHERN LAU GROUPS. For more information, refer to the latest Special Weather Bulletin on Heavy Swells issued by RSMC, Nadi at www.met.gov.fj/aifs_prods/20015.txt SITUATION: A high pressure together with a low pressure system to the far southwest of Fiji is expected to generate and direct heavy swells over the southern low lying coastal areas of Fiji from tomorrow. Meanwhile, A frontal system with associated cloud and showers lies slow moving overFiji and is expected to affect the group till later tomorrow. Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Occasional showers over Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups, the interior and eastern parts of the larger islands. Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms. Moderate east to southeast winds. Moderate to rough seas.
