NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS , NORTHERN LAU GROUP AND NORTHERN VITI LEVU.

A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE REST OF FIJI.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain

remains slow moving over the group.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

For Vanua Levu, Taveuni and Nearby smaller Islands, Northern Lau

Group and Northern Viti Levu:

Periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For the Rest of Fiji:

Occasional showers, possibly heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Showers increasing to rain and becoming frequent from today.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

Moderate to fresh northerly to easterly winds, gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Thursday : Periods of rain, heavy at times and few

squally thunderstorms over most places. Winds possibly increasing to

strong over the southern parts of the group.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Occasional showers, possibly heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Showers increasing to rain and becoming frequent from today.

Outlook for Thursday : Periods of rain, heavy at times and few

squally thunderstorms.

For Sigatoka / Coral Coast:

Occasional showers, possibly heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR SOUTHWEST VITI LEVU

WATERS, KADAVU AND VATU-I-RA PASSAGES, SOUTHERN KORO SEA AND SOUTHERN

LAU WATERS

Situation:

A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow

moving over the group.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters:

For Southwest Viti Levu Waters, Kadavu and Vatu-i-Ra Passages,

southern Koro Sea and Southern Lau Waters:

Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots.

Rough seas.

Moderate southeast swells.

Poor visibility in areas of heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas. Moderate

southeasterly swells.

For the rest of Fiji waters:

Northerly winds 15 to 20 knots.

Moderate to rough seas.

Moderate southeast swells.

Poor visibility in areas of heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Northerly winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate to rough
