A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR EASTERN HALF OF VITI LEVU,
NORTHERN VANUA LEVU, KADAVU AND NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, LAU AND
LOMAIVITI GROUP.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers
remains slow moving over Fiji.

It is anticipated to affect the group
for the next few days.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over the
eastern half of Viti Levu, Northern Vanua Levu, Kadavu and nearby
smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group. Localised heavy falls may
lead to flash flooding in these areas.
Elsewhere, cloudy periods with showers and thunderstorms especially
in the afternoon or evening. Isolated heavy falls expected.

Moderate northeast to southeast winds, fresh and gusty at times.
Moderate to rough seas.
Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few
thunderstorms over most places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :
Occasional shower, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few
thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :
Cloudy periods with afternoon or evening showers and few
thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls.
Outlook for Tuesday : Some showers especially in the afternoon or
evening.

For Labasa :
Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional shower, heavy at times and few
thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.
Outlook for Tuesday : Cloudy periods with some showers.

For Rotuma :
Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional shower, heavy at times and few
thunderstorms.

Situation:
A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers remains
slow moving over Fiji. It is anticipated to gradually weaken and
affect the group for the next few days.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters:

Southeast to northeast winds 15 to 20 knots.
Moderate to rough seas.
Moderate southerly swells.
Poor visibility in areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Southeast winds 20 to 25 knots over Southwest Viti
Levu waters, Kadavu and Vatu-i-ra passage. Rough seas. Moderate
southerly swells. Elsewhere, southeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate
to rough seas. Moderate southerly swells.
