A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND
NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR PARTS OF FIJI.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain
remains slow moving over the northern and eastern parts of the group.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
For Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti
group:
Strong southwest to northwest winds with average speed of 50 km/hr
and momentary gusts to 80km/hr. Rough seas. Winds easing to moderate
to fresh from later today.
Occasional rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms. Rain
easing from afternoon.
Flooding of low lying areas likely.

For the rest of Fiji:
Fresh to strong southwest to northwest winds with speeds of 35 to 50
km/hr and momentary gusts to 70km/hr. Rough seas. Winds easing to
moderate to fresh from afternoon.
Occasional showers.
Isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls possible.
Outlook for Thursday : Cloudy periods with afternoon or evening
showers and thunderstorms over the southern and eastern parts of the
larger islands. Fine apart from brief showers elsewhere.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :
Fresh to strong southwest to northwest winds with speeds of 35 to 50
km/hr and momentary gusts to 70km/hr. Winds easing to moderate to
fresh from afternoon. Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.
Outlook for Thursday : Cloudy periods with afternoon or evening
showers and thunderstorms.

For Sigatoka / Coral Coast:
Fresh to strong southwest to northwest winds with speeds of 35 to 50
km/hr and momentary gusts to 70km/hr. Winds easing to moderate to
fresh from afternoon. Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Outlook for Thursday : Fine apart from brief showers. Isolated
afternoon or evening thunderstorms possible over Coral Coast.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :
Fresh to strong southwest to northwest winds with speeds of 35 to 50
km/hr and momentary gusts to 70km/hr. Winds easing to moderate to
fresh from afternoon. Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Outlook for Thursday : Fine apart from brief showers.

For Tavua / Rakiraki :
Fresh to strong southwest to northwest winds with speeds of 35 to 50
km/hr and momentary gusts to 70km/hr. Winds easing to moderate to
fresh from afternoon. Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Outlook for Thursday : Fine apart from brief showers. Isolated
afternoon or evening thunderstorms possible over Coral Coast.

For Labasa :
Fresh to strong southwest to northwest winds with speeds of 35 to 50
km/hr and momentary gusts to 70km/hr. Winds easing to moderate to
fresh from afternoon. Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Outlook for Thursday : Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers
and thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Fresh to strong southwest to northwest winds with
speeds of 35 to 50 km/hr and momentary gusts to 70km/hr. Winds easing
to moderate to fresh from afternoon. Occasional showers and isolated
thunderstorms.
Outlook for Thursday : Cloudy periods with afternoon or evening
showers and thunderstorms

For Rotuma :
A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ROTUMA WATERS.

Situation: A trough of low pressure remains slow moving over Rotuma.
Associated cloud and showers affects the island.
Over waters: Strong northwesterly winds 20 to 25 knots, gusting to 30
knots.
Over land: Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, gusty at times.
Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.
Rough seas.

Outlook for Thursday : Showers and few thunderstorms.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL FIJI WATERS

Situation:
A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow
moving over the northern and eastern parts of the group.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters:

Southwest to northwest winds 25 to 30 knots, gusting to 40 knots.
Rough to very rough seas.
Moderate swells.

Further outlook: South to northwest winds 15 to 20 knots. Moderate
to rough seas.
