An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain

remains slow moving to the north of Fiji. It is expected to gradually

drift south towards the country and affect the northern parts of the

country from tonight.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

Occasional showers with few thunderstorms and isolated heavy falls

over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands. Cloudy periods

with some showers and few thunderstorms over the eastern and interior

parts of the other larger islands. Elsewhere, afternoon or evening

showers with isolated thunderstorms and heavy falls expected.

Moderate to fresh easterly winds.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Saturday : Showers increasing to rain over Vanua Levu,

Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and Yasawa group. Cloudy periods

with occasional showers and few thunderstorms over the eastern parts

and interior of the larger islands. Elsewhere, afternoon or evening

showers with isolated thunderstorms.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Cloudy periods with some showers and few thunderstorms

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :

Fine apart from afternoon or evening showers with isolated

thunderstorms and heavy falls.

Outlook for Saturday : Rain and thunderstorms developing.

For Labasa :

Occasional showers with isolated heavy falls and few thunderstorms.

Outlook for Saturday : Showers increasing to rain and becoming

frequent and heavy with squally thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional showers with isolated heavy falls and few

thunderstorms.

Outlook for Saturday : Showers increasing to rain and becoming

frequent and heavy with squally thunderstorms.

For Rotuma :

Situation: An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and

rain remains slow moving over Rotuma.

Periods of heavy rain and squally thunderstorms.

Moderate easterly winds, fresh and gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few

thunderstorms.

Easterly winds 15 to 20 knots.

Moderate to rough seas.

Moderate southeast swells.

Further outlook: Northeast winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas.

Moderate northeast swells.
