Water situation: Unplanned water disruption for Navua

Listen to this article:

RESIDENTS living in parts of Navua are being advised that the low to intermittent supply  supply of water currently faced is due to the collapse of one of the four
boreholes at Nayagi.

A statement from the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) says this is causing low to no inflow of water to the water treatment plant, resulting in low reservoir levels.

The affected areas include Navua Town, Naitata, Naitonitoni and Vuninokonoko,  Queens Highway from Navua bridge to Nasasa junction, Vakabalea, Busa Farm Road, Nasasa and Nasasa Back Road.

“Our ground teams are working with the Mineral Resources Department (MRD) to conduct necessary maintenances to restore supply,” WAF said.

Water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas during this disruption period and Navua residents are advised to use water wisely
for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
