Update: 11:10AM CUSTOMERS living in parts of Suva and Nausori are advised to prepare for a low water pressure situation to their area from today until Sunday.
The affected areas include Buiduna, Mokani, Verata, Kasavu, Lakena, Ovea, Cautata, Mau, Waicoka, Namuka, Baulevu, Tacirua Heights, Upper Ragg Avenue, Nagatugatu, Upper Caubati, Cunningham Dokanisuva, Colo-i-Suva, Valelevu area, Valelevu Tax Free Zone and Kalivetau Road.
A statement by the Water Authority of Fiji yesterday says pressure situation in water supply is a result of el an ctrical failure in the Waila Water Treatment Plant yesterday morning causing tripping of three clear water pumps.
“The repair was completed within four hours and the Treatment Plant is back in normal operation,” WAF said.
“However, the supply will be affected due to low water levels in our clear water reservoirs as a result of reduction of water production during the shutdown period. Areas affected will be expecting low pressure to no water particularly in the elevated areas.”
Water carts will be on standby to service the affected areas as and when the need arises.
Supply is expected to be gradually restored by Sunday afternoon.
