Water situation: Planned water disruption for Korovou

Listen to this article:

Residents living in parts of  Korovou are being advised that they will be experiencing low water pressure to intermittent supply from 9pm this Friday, May 15 to 6am Saturday, May 16.

According to a statement by the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF), the interruption in supply is due to allow WAF ground teams to carry out cut-in works at the Korovou roundabout as well as at the Korovou water treatment plant’s pumping main.

The areas expected to be affected include Korovou Town, Korovou Hospital, Nakorovou Village, Nailega Village, Nabilo Settlement, Matacaucau Village, Deep Water Nasuvasuva, Maji Government Quarters and Viwa Settlement.

The authority is advising customers to practice self-reliance and to have at least 2 days worth of water stored at all times.

It also encourages customers to invest in storage containers or water tanks connected to the water system for storage and backup supply during any unplanned disruption that may arise due to emergency works or natural disasters.
