Water situation: Nadi areas on alert

RESIDENTS living in parts of the greater Nadi area are advised that they should expect low water pressure to intermittent water supply over the weekend up until next Monday, June 4.
The Water Authority of Fiji says the anticipated low-pressure situation is a result of testing and commissioning of the new pumping stations at the Momi reticulation system.
It says the planned operational test works will be carried out during the day through peak and off-peak hours from 8am to 6pm, therefore WAF anticipates there will be disruptions in water to customers residing in elevated areas along the Southern end of Nadi.
Areas expected to be affected include:

– Nasau
– Vutuvutu
– Katigari
– Mulomulo Top
– Tabarak
– Malamala
– Nawaicoba
– Nabila
– Yako
– Nalovo
– Fiji Marriot Resort Momi Bay
– Uciwai
– Taci
– Togomasi
– Togo Lavusa
– Malolo
– Navo
– Tunalia
– Korovuto
– Transmitter Top
– Nacovi
– Sonaisali
– Veiladan

The authority says commissioning works is expected to be completed by Monday and water supply to affected customers to be gradually restored by 8pm on the same day.
Customers residing in the affected areas are advised to store enough and use water wisely for their immediate needs during the period.
For water carting requests, members of the public are to contact the authority’s National Call Centre on 3346777 or 5777. Water carts will be on standby to service the affected areas as and when the need arises.
