Water situation: Labasa residents experience disruptions

Listen to this article:

RESIDENTS living in parts of Labasa are being advised that they will be experiencing low water pressure to intermittent supply from now until further notice.

A statement from the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) revealed that affected areas include elevated buildings in Labasa Town, Batinikama, Soasoa, Vunivau, Cawaira, parts of Vunika, Basoga, Vatunibale, Vaturekuka, Vitadra, Lowcost, Boca, Urata, Bulileka Village, Boubale, Dreketilailai, Lajonia and Wailevu area to Qelewaqa.

The interruption in supply has been attributed to the blockages at the Nasealevu and Navau intakes as a result of the adverse weather conditions, as well as a burst raw water main at the Vunikawakawa crossing, which has limited water levels at the Benau reservoir.

WAF customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.

For further inquiries, customers can call 3346777 and 5777 (Vodafone, Digicel & Inkk users) or email contact@waf.com.fj.
