Water situation: Elevated areas of Nadi on alert
9 May, 2019, 7:25 pm
RESIDENTS living in elevated parts of Nadi are advised to expect low water pressure to intermittent supply from 10pm to 6am daily from tonight, May 9, until Sunday, May 12, 2019.
A statement from the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) stated that the interruption in supply was because of urgent operational works that would be carried out on the rural off takes in Solovi, Meiguniah and Togomasi, to build up pressure and eliminate trapped air in the water supply system that was presently restricting flow towards the Southern end of Nadi.
Areas expected to be affected include: Meiguniah, Ali Brothers Rd, Mulomulo, Solovi, Nausori Highland, Togomasi, Togolavusa, Singh’s Drive, Qeleloa, Dratabu, Chabhaji Rd, Tunalia, AD Patel, Transmitter, Veilandhan, Nadovi, Malakua, Nawaicoba, Vutuvutu, Kajiqari, Mulomulo Top, Tabarak and elevated areas along the Southern end of Nadi.
The authority has advised customers residing in those areas to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service those areas as and when the need arises.
Water supply is expected to be gradually restored by Sunday.
