1 May, 2019, 10:05 pm
A BURST main at the Matovo High Lift Pump House has resulted in an interruption of water supply to parts of Sigatoka.
According to a statement issued by the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF), this has caused low water pressure to intermittent supply from now until 6am tomorrow morning, May 2, 2019.
The areas expected to be affected include Sigatoka Town and surrounding areas, Lawaqa and surrounding areas, Olosara and surrounding areas, Malaqereqere and surrounding areas, and Rakirakilevu and surrounding areas.
WAF says crew members are now working to rectify the leakage and water supply is expected to be gradually normalised by 6am tomorrow.
Meanwhile, customers residing in the areas above are advised to store and use water wisely for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
And for any urgent water carting requests, members of the public are to contact the authority’s National Call Centre on 5777.
