MISS Fiji Nanise Rainima’s wardrobe to the 2014 Miss South Pacific Pageant in December at Samoa will include designs from several local designers.
Her chaperone and former Miss South Pacific Pageant queen Alisi Rabukawaqa said although Miss Fiji had her own stylist and designer, other local designers had shown their interest in being a part of Miss Rainima’s journey.
“Our team is lucky to have our very own designer and stylist, who has been a part of the Miss South Pacific Fiji team since 2010, Epeli Tuibeqa whose label is Kuiviti,” Ms Rabukawaqa said.
“We have also received the support of other established designers who have also come on board to help, namely Hupfeld Hoerder, whose brand is of the same name and Rako by Letilla Mitchell.”
Ms Rabukawaqa said Miss Rainima was ready for the pageant but they did not want to be complacent and efforts were being put in on other parts of her preparation.
“We will continue to work on her public speaking, and the best way to rehearse is to attend events as she is already doing now.
“As it is a Pacific pageant, another expectation is to represent your traditional culture, so building a more in-depth knowledge and understanding on our past and living culture is an important component to represent at this regional platform.”
